Louise Mitchell showed her cotton and silk collections in Paris, London and New York for many years at Lingerie and Fashion Shows
Louise loved showing her collections at International Fashion Fairs
She would pack her collections into 2 very large suitcases and take them on the plane with her. She was terrified to send them separately in case they were lost or arrived too late.
She used to show in Paris twice a year. Paris was really the easiest Fair. Louise had an ironing service who were marvelous. They would deliver all her garments freshly ironed directly to her stand. What bliss!
Louise had all her price lists, look books and shipping costs translated into French in Sydney for her French clients.
In London and New York Louise did all the ironing of her collections
There was fabric to be attached to walls, flowers to be bought and arranged, lighting to be ordered and price lists and look books to be set out.
When everything was set up and the exhibitors were completely exhausted, we all appeared next day looking immaculate and with a smiling face for our clients
Everything was worthwhile. Lots of new buyers to meet. New trends to see. New friends to make.
